Today’s Artist Syd Track: Picking Up Pieces [3:22] Comments Frappr, Ultralights, Ajax and Motorcycles –by Andrew McCaskey Thanks to Vern Hart and William Kempthorne for their continued underwriting support for Slashdot Review. I always appreciate the special efforts of those link to SDR from their blog or who have posted a photo or comment online at the SDR Frappr page. If you click over there you will be rewarded with a relatively new feature, the rolling slide show of Frappr photos. Lee in Greely Colorado has just added in photo as pilot in command - of something - and with the weather beginning to break here in the heartland, both the ultralight and the Geezerbike are beginning to show signs of life. From the looks of the Frappr page, it looks like several listeners have aviation and or motorcycle fever as well. Being Thursday, time to report on the next installment from the Ajax crowd - This week AjaxSketch.com - worth a few minutes of time to click around, and then a trip back to the AjaxWrite.com site greatly improved from last week. And that is the whole idea about the Ajax based software apps. Michael Robertson of Lindows/Linspire fame is behind it all, claiming over half a million files created by the Ajaxwrite.com app in the past week. I think you will find it interesting - although I am not sure if it is ready for prime time - as I still have the nice comfortable feeling of keeping documents on my own personal drive - be it hard drive or USB thumb drive. Hello to jgtwith2’s, nethick, darkwolf, and reeves - all of whom are joining us daily from the SDR Feedblitz service - where you are able to sign up to have SDR and a built in Flash player delivered to your inbox each day. Just look at the bottom of each day’s posting. As surprising as it might sound, it’s just about as hard to prepare for a very short podcast than for a longer one. Today’s TechPodcast Network Affiliate Pick is the One Minute Tip, hosted by John Chambers. The One Minute Tip is a collection of Podcasted technology tips, interviews, quickstarts and videos for people who don’t have time to read manuals cover to cover. John tracks down and find and Podcast these “gems” three times a week. I think you’ll be amazed at the concise quality of his podcasts, and appreciate the time he spends distilling things down to the essentials. Don’t forget that you can get Slashdotreview by email, with a built in flash player, arriving in your email inbox each day. Just sign up for the free FeedBlitz service in the box at the bottom of each day’s posting. Plus you can then forward that email, and introduce someone new to podcasting to SDR - without having to explain a thing.
