Customer Review: Clear systematic introduction to the subject
Both visually and textually this book shows how intelligent design can enhance the message. My interest in graphic design came about through developing flyers, handouts and web sites for several academic projects and user-interface research. I also designed cover sleeves for DVDs covering some of my research.

However, I was guided by human computer action principles and even though I can sketch rasonably well, I was missing the critical design ‘touch’. This was especially obvious in my primitive understanding of typefaces. While this book was too late for me, it certainly has added to my knowledge and is particulary good on typeface aesthetics. What I most liked about the text is that it allowed the designs to speak for themselves. Great investment. Great chapter on 2D animation as well - nearly forgot! Buy It Now At Amazon!
