Tomorrow (Thursday October 25) I’ll be spending a morning on the theme of New Literacies at Glasgow’s funky Urban Learning Space, in The Lighthouse on Mitchell Lane. It’s not too late to register for free if you want to come along for some discussions around the theme. I’m keen to find out myself whether, by preparing children for some kind of connected digital future, we’re actually preparing them for stuff the world of employment is nowhere near implementing. The audience will be made up of education folk, media people, designers, webby people… a good mix that should lead to some good discussions. One disclaimer: the seminar pack (pdf) had its front cover graphic changed from something a bit Second Life-y to a graphical rendition of digital immigrants and digital natives.
